Anna Oliver has always been into science fiction and interested in Victorian fantasy.
She has a passion for doing arty things, such as painting and beadwork, and especially likes complicated work.
When she started playing around with watch parts, her interest in steampunk jewellery developed into what is now a dynamic small business run from the sunroom of her flat in Nelson. It has also given her a new focus and more confidence.
“It’s been a real confidence booster and a wakeup call,” Anna says. “I was using a lot of energy doing negative things and there were bad influences in my life, but now that I’ve claimed my energy back, it reminds me how important my own happiness is. I’ve found myself again.”
