Could you do with A Splendid Day Out?

A Splendid Day Out evening entertainmentA Splendid Day Out – the steampunk event based in Morecambe – will be held on the weekend of the 21st to the 23rd October 2016.  Still to be held at the Platform, the weekend event will feature the usual motley crew of  steampunk traders but is to be complimented with Marina Black and Steven Brickdust providing daytime entertainment. Just to build a little excitement a third entertainer has been hinted at, but is as yet unconfirmed.

Live games include Tea Duelling and will now be accompanied by Splendid Teapot Racing for the first time. For a list of the rules in case you want to enter, you can view them here:

Evening entertainment

As is customary with every event, there is evening entertainment. In October, the Friday will feature Dead Man’s Hand followed by a DJ set by Hydra Rock. This event warm up will be held in the Parisien Bar of the Winter Gardens.

On Saturday, the event really gets underway with the daytime market. The House will be hosting the evening’s event. There are three acts performing. First, symphonic metal band Dead of Night (who are reported to be excellent by the organisers), so it looks to be a fantastic night from the off.

Following Dead of Night is Cauda Pavonis who are a well established Goth band. It would seem that they’ve discovered brown though as they’re now moving over to the steampunk side of music. These are the guys who supported Abney Park last year and are currently supporting Toyah.

The night will round off with a gentleman who needs little introduction. He’s a steampunk dilletante who has a debonaire attitude while dropping some dope beats. The one and only incogruous, insouciant, salacious, exotic dancing, sciencing, exploring Professor Elemental!

The large cherry of the proverbial cake that is DJ Dark Side of the Lune will see the night come to a close.
