We’ve already given away a copy of Illuminate on CD by Alice’s Night Circus and now we have a copy of The Machine. This EP contains just two songs; The Machine and Medusa.
“Alice’s Night Circus is a curious journey down a musical rabbit hole, featuring a blend of apocalyptic fairytale steampop with a touch of the circus.”
The Machine
Starting off with a brooding spooky melody of angel chorus, it soon builds up with Alice’s vocals. Then the signature strong percussion kicks in and you’re blown away. The song conveys a story of being a disposable cog in “the machine”. It’s about breaking away from what society deems as normal and how the elusive “they” want you to just live your life working and wasting your time here to keep their machine moving.
Medusa
The second track on the EP is called Medusa. As we all know Medusa is a Greek mythological creature who famously had snakes for hair. She could also turn anyone to stone by looking at them. The song is a slow piano backed record with haunting vocals from Alice.
