Starling Watches have announced that the final remaining watches are available at a huge discount to their retail price. Normally priced at $99 each, the recognisable watches with the chillovean light system that boasts 67 million colour combinations are down to $29 until they have sold out. After that no other watches will be made. This really is the final time to get hold of one of the watches.
You may remember that I reviewed the Inception version back in December 2015. Now 2 years later they’re winding down (no pun intended) the production. One of the major selling points of the watches was that they were presented in a resin box designed by Disney imagineer Teri Hardin. This is no longer the case and the discounted watches will come in a blue velvet pouch instead.
From a quick look on the Starling website, the What If watch has sold out, which leaves the Inception, Memories, Translate, Rewind and Snapshot available. The names of the watches relate to certain points of the accompanying novella that was written by Starling founder Frank Cohen. The story – titled Starling – tracks the adventures of Jeff and Allisandra who are born 60 years apart. As she dies, she gives Jeff a watch that allows him to travel back in time so they can meet when she’s his age. They fall in love and commence a search for the missing five watches. But hot on their tails is Hinky. He invented the watches and wants them all back to control the world. If he succeeds, Jeff and Allisandra will never meet.
