Two Big Steampunk Conventions this Weekend in the Midwest

Big River Steampunk Spring Faire, Hannibal MO

Most Steampunks know that Labor Day weekend is time for the Big River Steampunk Festival, in Hannibal, MO. But this year, the folks at Big River wanted to try out a spring event.

This weekend, March 30-31, the inaugural Big River Steampunk Spring Faire launches. Find the festivities at the Admiral Koontz Armory, where most of the events will be held indoors. And due to some light flooding, other daytime/outdoor events have been moved to the safe indoor space of the Hannibal Inn.

Tickets are $29.00 for a two day pass for adults and $15.00 for children aged ten and under. Premium events (additional charges) include the Ragtime Review, the Great Riverboat Gamble, Rockcliff Mansion Invasion and Photoshoot, and the Haunted Hannibal Late Night Ghost Adventure.
Performers at the Faire include Doc Phineas, Sammy Tramp, Dr. Zero, the Ragged Blade Band, and the burlesque stylings of Eva La Feva and Sio Bast.

This year’s Faire and Steampunk Festivals celebrate Hannibal’s bicentennial and support the Hannibal History Museum.
