I recently posted about the gorgeous new Petzval 85 lens from the Lomography Society and they’ve just sent an electronic telegram about a new lens that they’re setting up a Kickstarter campaign for.
Based on the technology used to renew the Petzval 85, the Petzval 58 is a 58mm focal length Bokeh Control Art lens. For those that are unfamiliar with bokeh, it’s Japanese for “blur” and is used to describe the out of focus backgrounds of photographs. The better the lens, the “rounder” the blurred street lights, for example.
The Bokeh Control lens, you can swirl the bokeh to create artistic effects in the lens. The 58 lens has a new control ring to allow you to judge how much of the swirl you include in the shot. Have a read of the Press Release below for more information. Continue reading “Lomography Society look to Kickstarter to revive Victorian lens”
I’ve been contacted by the splendid Professor Elemental (adventurer, tea drinker and bad ass emcee) to spread the word about his latest venture. His newest record is called Don’t Feed the Trolls and is a campaign to end trolling by simply ignoring them. After all, the reason they do it is to start arguments. Then they’ll either argue it out or slip out of the loop and watch everyone squabble among themselves.
The target to make a video for the track has been reached already. The rest of the funds will be spread out to various charities. Have a read of the press release below and have a think about donating. Continue reading “Professor Elemental wants to make the internet splendid!”

Well after a very successful campaign with that, they’re at it again with a strategic board game called Scrapyard Empire. In order to get an understanding of the campaign and what it can do for you, my dear steampunk, I managed to talk to Dennis Consorte; one of the co-developers of the game.
